Shaheera is a former BBC Journalist, Senior Editor and Producer. She has worked as a presenter and producer on various programmes for BBC World Service, BBC TV and BBC Radio 3 and during the successful Africa 05 season, was a curator of African events a the V&A. She has given talks on contemporary African art and was a founding host/editor for BBC’s first on-line portal for African contemporary culture African on Your Street.
An award-winning TV presenter in Canada, Shaheera has over 20 years extensive experience in content writing, editorial, broadcasting, media relations. Born in London, she is of Ghanaian/Guyanese and Brazilian heritage, has lived and travelled extensively in Africa and Europe, and is a well-known African innovation advocate within African media circles.
Shaheera holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Humanities from University of Alberta Canada, and a Diploma in Journalism from BCIT, Canada. Her blog is BfabAfrica.
Rudy is a Mobile Strategist, Business Angel and Appreneur. He is a leading figure in the development of the mobile ecosystem as we know it today. A native of Belgium, he recently (summer 2012), re-located after 10 years from Barcelona to London, England.
In Barcelona, he co-founded dotopen.com in 2007. In 2010 the company launched AppCircus, a value creation on-line platform for developers and the world’s first travelling showcase and app competition; sourcing innovative apps and developers around the world. dotopen also organises the annual Mobile Premier Awards.
Rudy co-founded MobileMonday Spain in 2006 and joined the Mobile 2.0 Advisory to organise the seminal Mobile 2.0 events in San Francisco and Barcelona. In 2010, he curated the successful Mobile Trends 2020, a collaborative outlook on the trends in mobile for the next decade and its sequel Mobile Trends 2020 Africa in 2011.
